Ben says cheerfully "Hello blog pals and welkom to another Ben's keetchun! Befour we get to fineesheeng our Gooey Chocolate Caramel Bars, we hav a mysturee update to share with our blog pals!" After carefully reviewing the photos stored on our camera, Ben discovered two additional photos that he feels provide beary important clues to reveal who may have snatched the Rolo candy. Take a look at the photos and see what you think!
The bars are indeed beary gooey, and yummy, when they are warm. If you do let the bars cool fully, or store them in the refridgerator, Ben recommends that you microwave your bar for a few seconds before eating it so that the caramel softens just a bit. Here is the recipe:
Ingredients
1 box devil's food chocolate cake mix
1/4 cup melted butter
1 egg
1/3 cup milk
1 1/4 cup Rolo candies
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 7x11 baking dish with nonstick spray. In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat together the dry cake mix, melted butter, egg, and milk until well combined. Stir in the Rolo candies. Use an off-set spatula to spread the batter into the prepared pan. The batter will be very sticky and somewhat difficult to spread. Bake for 18 minutes exactly. The bars may look a bit underdone, but they will set as they cool. Cool for at least 30 minutes before cutting.

Hmm... those don't look like bear paws. I think someone must have a human accomplice. A curious twist to this mystery!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, still a confusing case, lots of twists and turns. I see what looks like Jerry's boots in one picture but the other picture definitely doesn't seem like Jerry at all. Perhaps there is an international crime ring coming through Jerry and Ben's neighborhood eating candies, causing pranks, and framing little stuffies for crimes they did not commit. Have you heard from the garden center employees confirming or denying Jerry's alibi?

DeleteHmmm... beary suspicious... There are Jerry's boots and yet no little bear paw reaching for a rolo... but then there is a human hand reaching for one. It could be that Jerry required some assistance. You know how hard those wrappers are to remove... especially for little bears without opposable thumbs! As for the owner of the human hand... no dirt under the finger nails, so not a gardener... hmmm...
