The word Minneopa comes from the Dakota language and means "water falling twice." It refers to the two charming waterfalls of the Minneopa Creek. First, there is a little set of falls.
Jerry wonders if there are any salmon swimming the creek and jumping over the falls. Smoked salmon would make a tasty lunch. Ben reads the guide sheet and discovers, sadly, that there are no salmon in this creek. "Darn" says Jerry. Next are the bigger falls.
"Hey Ben" says Jerry, "come and see these beautiful falls!"
They sure are pretty, but the water is still a bit too cold to go swimming. We did, however, dip our bear toes in it and wiggle them around.
After a long winter, summer is off to a great start! What are you doing for fun this summer?
What a nice and relaxing hike you two had. Ben, I am so impressed how you kept your nice clothes clean during the hike. Jerry, your summer outfit looks great. Looks like you took some fashion tips from Jake. Beary cool.

Well, Ben usually likes to be well dressed, but we're very limited in the outfits he can wear (and they're not easy to clean). We didn't see any salmon, but we stopped along they way and had a fish sandwich and French fries, and that is always yummy. We have not yet tried huckleberry lemonade...in fact we've never heard of it where we live. We do like half iced tea and half lemonade mixed together as a fresh summer drink. We'll have garden pictures soon. How is your garden doing?

Hehe, no, that is Jerry, although it is true that we do look very much alike. Jake stops over to visit us from time to time. Maybe we can include him in our next post. We have been gardening a beary lot, but now that summer is here, we have some vacation time too. Are you traveling anywhere this summer?
