A Reminder, and a Hammie Package!

Second, there was a special surprise in our mailbox the other day, but let's let Jerry and Ben tell you the story...


"When Papa got hom the othur day, he hav box for Ben and me!" said Jerry

Ben asked "a packege... for me and Jerry?? Let's open it! Let's open it!"

"Oh wow" exclaimed Jerry, "thar iz a lot of neat stuff in this package. Letz see what thar iz!"

Ben was very excited, "there iz sum good things to eat, and a card too! Oh wow!"

Jerry shouted "itz a kard from Hammie!!! And thar are kookees too! Yummy!"

Jerry loves to draw, so he thought the artwork of the bear on Hammie's card was beary nice!

"And there are sum deeleeshus Dutch kookies too!" said Ben, "me think we bettur hide them frum Jerry!"

Jerry added "and look, thar are Dutch chocolates too! We'd bettur hide them from Papa! hehe"

"Wait a minute" said Jerry, "thar ar sum othur theengs in the box!" "Let me take them out" said Ben.

Jerry discovered a beautiful key ring in the package too! Hammie says the little flag is from the province of Groningen where Hammie and Gea live!

Ben noted the big G on a beautifully wrapped package. "Iz that G for Gea?" he asked. "Me think G is for Groningen" responded Jerry. Ben still thinks G should be for Gea!

"Letz karfullee unrap the package!" continued Jerry, "me wundur what it iz..."

Ben was BEARY excited! "Itz a book of Dutch kooking!!!"

"Me kant wait to kook sum of theez resipees!" exclaimed Ben.  Jerry immediately added "and me kant wait to taste them! They look yummee!!!" then he rubbed is tummy a little, then took a bite of one of the delicious Dutch cookies.

"Thank you Hammie! We shur do appreeshate all of thez wundurfull treats!" said Ben. "Hmwm umz HMnom.me!" added Jerry, who was trying to talk with his mouth full of cookie, so we think he said "Thank you Hammie!!"
