Mail Call

We're late in posting our recent news...it's such a burden to have the human seKretarties stuck at home; a little bear now has very little time for the important things that the late winter requires: extra naps during the day, finding the hidden jars of honey stored around the house, great hour-long games of hide-and-seek...you know what we're talking about.  Anyway, now that the humans are home, we're on full-time management duty, and lucky we are, or thing just wouldn't get done.

We recently received two hand-made holiday cards from Droopy, aren't they great!

Ben also sent a text message to Sherlock Sandy concerning:

The Case of the Curious Coronavirus Conundrum.

According to Ben, Jerry claims that stuffies require two extra home-baked cookies per day in order to keep up their natural immunity to this virus that's unfortunately been wandering around. Ben says "That sounded a bit sketchee to me so I kontacted Sherlock Sandy, cauze he would know."

Well, Sherlock Sandy replied that he would need to examine and to sample the evidence (i.e. cookies) in order to assess the effectiveness of this immunity claim. Ben says he was a tad puzzled by this reply, but Sherlock Sandy is a world-famous consulting detective-bear, so he would know.

However, when Ben went to the cookie container in the kitchen....it was empty. Now, the thing is, you see, one human in the house and Jerry had just expressed together, just two hours earlier, the urgent need to undertake a full deep clean of the kitchen, a cleaning task they happily volunteered to do while Ben relaxed on the sofa and read a recipe book...a very unusual offer of hard household work that is entirely out of character for both individuals.

Fast forward to another response from Sherlock Sandy, who advised Ben to check for any finger and paw prints on the tin, and to investigate any cookie residue or crumbs near or on the suspects. Doesn't Sherlock Sandy have great ideas?

Yet again, no luck. The cookie tin had been wiped clean of finger and paw prints, and after examining this still-warm hand vacuum that is also in the kitchen, Ben deduced that any possible trace of cookie crumbs had been removed by persons, or little bears, unknown.

Ben says he'll update readers about this case once further investigation is concluded.

  1. Glad the cards arrived. At least the mail is still working as usual. Hope you're all staying safe and healthy...and I'm eagerly awaiting the next stage in the investigation...

  2. I think you could interrogate Jerry pretty easy if you offered snacks as a bribe.

  3. Great mail haul!

Did you take any air samples to test for cookie-virus?
