The cookies include peanut butter, powdered sugar, and Rice Crispie cereal that you roll into small balls (little bears need extra help with this step since their fur can get sticky) and then dip into chocolate. They are one Jerry's favorite cookies, and as you can see below, he's beary interested in them...

Ben's Beary Yummy Cookies
1 cup peanut butter
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoons softened butter
1 1/2 cups Rice Krispies cereal
6 oz chocolate bits (we prefer dark chocolate)
1/4 bar parafin wax
Melt chocolate in a double boiler over simmering hot water. Mix peanut butter, powdered sugar and butter together until smooth. Add Rice Krispies and stir together (we found it easier to use our hands for this step). Rub a little butter into clean hands (to prevent dough from sticking) and form into small balls, then place on a tray. Once all the balls are formed, dip each into the melted chocolate, use two spoons to turn ball in the chocolate to make sure you coat the entire surface. Lift ball out of pan with the spoons and place onto a cookie sheet covered with parchment or wax paper. When the sheet if full, place it into the refrigerator and chill until the chocolate surface hardens. Store in a tin or container between layers of parchment or wax paper; keep tin in the refrigerator.
All those cookies look delicious. Does Ben ever wear an apron? His paws always look so clean. I feel like I should get my roommates started on making some holiday cookies. I wonder if Chocoate Chip cookies are acceptable to serve at Christmas?
ReplyDeleteBen does wear an apron, but prefers to pose for pictures without it. Maybe Jerry can convince him to take one photo wear it. Chocolate Chip cookies are always beary acceptable. They even make red & green chocolate chips if you'd like to add a little Christmas decoration to them.

ReplyDeleteWell, it depends on how large you make the balls. It's important to get the peanut butter mix to chocolate ratio correct. We'd say about a dozen or so, but we do double the recipe because so many like them.
DeleteOh... baking cookies means you have to eat cookies which is not good for the bear waistline! Mama says I only live once but... those look super yummy!
